Presentation to Town Council, May 22, 2007
Superhero dad Brian Patton made a presentation to Town Council this evening. It went fantastic - everyone should hug him when they get a chance.
One of AHSA's requests was that the Town put a staff member in charge of finding a site suitable to both Town and the Sk8 Association - with a deadline (to be decided) in months, not years. Surprisingly, the mayor stood up and personally pledged to fill that role! If she's successful, I'll name my next kid after her.
The reception from council was surprisingly favorable - I like to think that a recent letter from this 550+ member interest group helped make them a bit more open-minded than usual.
Thanks to Dave Risk for this report, from Antigonish needs a skatepark
More:
AHSA plans to work closely with Mayor Chisholm. We agreed on monthly progress reports (or more often if needed, according to Mayor Kaye).
Brian finished by telling councillors that they would all be provided with an all-expenses paid voucher to come along on our next road trip to Coxheath on June 30 [re-scheduled to July 14, rain date July 22]. We'll have to raise some $$$ to pay for the trip, possibly a few car washes in June... please stay tuned!
